Eurovision 2011 - Analysis from the Great Final (1)

I promised long time about (during the ESC days) that I was gonna do a kind of analysis about the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 results, well it came the time for that.

Prometí hace un buen rato (Durante los dias de ESC) que iba a hacer una especie de análisis sobre los resultados de Eurovision Song Contest 2011, bueno llegó el momento de ello.

I’m gonna divided the final of 25 acts, in three parts, the top 10 bottom, middle up and top5 finalists.

Voy a dividir la final de 25 actos en tres partes, los 10 últimos, los 10 del medio y desde luego los top5 ;)

So let’s start…… (it will be analyzed according the place they got in the great final, with the starting position number between brackets)

Comencemos... (Serán analizados de acuerdo con el lugar que obtuvieron en la final, con el número que ocuparon para su presentación entre paréntesis)

25^th PLACE: (13) Switzerland – Anna Rossinelli – “In love for a while”

I still don’t get why the Europeans placed her so low in the score board, I love the country-pop song since they picked it up in last December. They did a great job, I mean Anna and the boys on stage, in spite of the last place, I was so happy to see the red flag with the white cross in a final of the ESC once again, since so many years out, a really nice surprise this year ;) – For me this song deserved to have reached at least the middle of the scoreboard, but you Europeans are who rules the contest, I am just a viewer overseas.

Aun no sé por qué los Europeos la dejaron tan abajo en la tabla de posiciones, amé la canción country-pop desde el mismo momento en que los Suizos la eligieron en Diciembre de 2010. Ellos hicieron un gran trabajo, me refiero a Anna y los chicos en el escenario, a pesar de su última ubicación, estuve muy feliz de ver la bandera roja con la cruz blanca en la final de ESC una vez más en mucho tiempo por fuera, una de las muy buenas sorpresas de este año ;) - Para mi esta canción mereciía una mejor ubicación, no sé la mitad de la tabla, pero uds los Europeos son los que mandan y yo soy sólo un televidente a distancia.

24^th PLACE: (08) Estonia – Getter Jaani – “Rockefeller Street”

Why, why one of my favs was a kind of punish in bottom 4? According to a friend of mine, maybe was because of the title, maybe he's right, I know about people in Europe that don’t like to hear American names in their songs, at least the artist came from there, and in Eurovision I've seen fall down low to Sweden in 2005 with “in Las Vegas” and there are so many other examples, I’m not gonna call today. Getter’s song was my top 5 favourite, for me a winner but not for you. It is on my phone ring tune! xD

Por qué, por qué una de mis favoritas fue como tan duramente castigada dejandola en los 4 últimos? De acuerdo a un amigo mio, tal vez fue culpa del titulo de la canción, tal vez él tenga la razón, sé the gente en Europa que lo le gusta oir nombres americanos en sus canciones, a no ser que sea en boca de artistas de las Americas y en Eurovision he visto caer bajo a Suecia en 2005 con "in las Vegas" y hay otros muchos ejemplos, que no voy a mencionar. la canción de Getter estuvo en mi top5 , para mi era una ganadora, pero para uds no, la tengo de tono de llamada en mi teléfono ! xD

23^rd PLACE: (22) Spain – Lucía Pérez – “Que me quiten lo baila’o” (They can’t take away the fun from me)

Lucia was one of the best on stage so far that night from the B5 selected group among Lena and Raphael Gualazzi. She just ate the whole stage with her happiness and cool energy, maybe Europe didn’t get the good tune enough, maybe just didn’t like it, but what else could we have expected if the same Spaniards did the best for boycotted their own song? Well, they won and the song was not the bottom, but partly of it! – I still like the song, and Nadie me quitará lo baila’o xD (it’s a nice motto)

Lucia fue una de las mejores en escena de lejos esa noche, del grupo selecto de los B5 junto con Lena y Raphael de Italia. Ella simplemente se comió todo el escenario con su alegría y muy buena energía, tal vez Europa no entendió que la canción era buena, tal vez no les gustó, pero qué más se podía esperar si los mismos Españols hicieron lo que pudieron por boicotear su propia canción? Bueno, ganaron y la canción no estuvo de última, pero fue parte de él! - Todavía me gusta la canción y "nadie me quitará lo balao" (Es un buen slogan)

22^nd PLACE: (05) Hungary – Kati Wolf – “What about my dreams”

Kati did a great job, the song in fact was a kind of hard to perform because is so dance and uptempo that you can’t just sing it standing up in the same place during the whole 3 mins, maybe that’s why people didn’t vote her so much, the song itself is a good piece of art for a club to dance all night long xD – You should try, if you haven’t done yet ;) It was one of my favs to win, top5, the winner without a doubt for me, but it wasn’t for you… Too bad!

Kati hizo un gran trabajo, la canción de hecho era bien complicada para una presentación en vivo, porque es tan dance y movida que no puede simplemente ser cantada de pie todo el tiempo durante los 3 min, de pronto por eso fue que la gente no la voto mucho, la canción es muy buena, no sé para un club o discoteca y bailarla toda la noche xD - Deberían intentar, si aún no lo han hecho ;) Fue una de mis favoritas para ganar, top5, para mi sin duda alguna era la ganadora, no fue para uds... Muy mal!

21^st PLACE: (01) Finland – Paradise Oskar – “Da da dam”

One of my punished songs of this year, I just let myself hear it without any bad feeling, during the ESC week, I found it out that was one of the best, I feel in love with it because it was so environmentalist and sweet, just like me #justkidding (yeah a twitter mark, follow me ;) @jclugoholt ) I think one of the things that let this guy to be in the final was the main actress of his performance “Our planet”, yeah, who didn’t feel a beautiful emotion when She showed up while he was singing (or that only had that effect on me?! – anyways) the song was great, he did a great performance in spite of being the one who open the great final, but the people in the Spirit Arena, did welcome him in the best way, with big applauses and cool energy ;)

Una de las canciones castigadas este año por mi, sólo la escuché sin el castigo durante la semana de ESC, y me encontré con una muy buena canción, me enamoré de ella porque era tan ambientalista y dulce, así como yo #solobromeo (Si, tengo la marca twitter, siganme ;) @jclugoholt) Creo que una de las cosas que puso a este chico en la final fue la actriz principal de su acto "nuestro planeta", si, quién no sintió un bello sentimiento cuándo aparece la imagen, mientras el tipito canta (o ese efecto sólo lo tuve yo?! - como sea) la canción estaba buena, el hizo una muy buena presentación a pesar de ser el primero en presentarse, cosa difícil, pero la gente en la Arena, le dió una muy buena bienvenida con grandes aplausos y buena energía ;)

20^th PLACE: (21) Iceland – Sjonni’s Friends – “Coming home”

Personally I would have prefer to see this song performed in Icelandic, the original lyric who Sigurjón Brink wrote. His friends did a good job, in the Icelandic National Final, they made to tear my eyes, maybe because they were representing a man who wanted to be part of this wonderful event that even I want to belong to, they got a couple of 12 set points, but few points from all around Europe, so they didn’t climb so much in the final score.

Personalmente me hubiera gustado ver esta canción presentada en Islandés, pues así fue que -Sigurjón Brink la escribió. Sus amigos hicieron un muy buen trabajo en la final Islandesa, hicieron que aparecieran lágrimas en mis ojos, porque estaban representado al hombre que quería ser parte de este magnífico espectaculo, al cual me gustaría pertenercer también, obtuvieron varios 12 puntos, pero pocos puntos de toda Europa, así que fue poco lo que se movieron en la tabla al final.

19^th PLACE: (04) Lithuania - Evelina Sašenko - “C’est ma vie”

The big surprise to me along with Switzerland in the final, I like the classic ballads, and this had that something lyrical touch that Evelina printed to it fortunately, she was well-ranked in their semi, good for this country that has been few times in the final, but always that they made it are unforgettable ;) A beautiful and powerful voice and a nice woman singing a very touch song and don’t forget the sign language, maybe gave more votes for her ;).

La gran sorpresa para mi, junto con la clasificación de Suica a la final, me gustan las baladas con ese toque clásico que tenía esta, Evelina le imprimió un sentimiento muy lindo y eso fue lo que hizo que quedara también para mucho jurado y lo sorprendente de su posición en la Semi, bien por este país que ha estado poco en la final, pero cuándo lo hace deja huella y se vuelven inolvidables ;). Una voz tan hermosa y poderosa y una chica cantando una canción tab emotiva y no olviden el leguage de las señas, que de pronto hicieron que obtuviera los votos que tuvo ;).

18th PLACE (18) Austria – Nadine Beiler – “The secret is love”

One of the best voice live of this year, deserving a better position after they break, Austria did so great, sending an amazing artist with a beautiful song, this song was in my top15, so I complain about its place in the scoreboard. Can you tell me right to my eyes, she didn’t deserve to be in a better place up in the scoreboard?! I dare you!

Una de las mejores voces de este año, merecedora de un mejor lugar en la tabla y después del receso que tuvo Austria, lo hicieron muy bien, enviaron a una excelente artista con un muy hermosa canción, para mi una top15, así que me quejo por su ubicación en la tabla. Pueden decirme mirandome a los ojos, que ella no merecía estar en una mejor colocanción dentro de la tabla de posiciones?! Los Reto!!!

17th PLACE: Romania – Hotel FM – “Change”

I knew it that they could be losing spots in the final because the Danish song was better so far to me, the lyrics was quite good, but the tune didn’t catch me completely, by the way, Why Italy gave them its 12 points? It is cause of the sisterhood of their languages or there are so many Romanians in Italy? – I think they could be becoming the next Greece-Cyprus 12 points play.

Sabía que ellos pordrían estar perdiendo lugares en la final, porque la canción de Dinamarca, era mucho más buena que esta para mi, la letra era buena, pero le faltaba algo que no me atrapó por completo, a propósito, porqué Italia le dieron sus 12 puntos a ellos, es por la hermandad entre idiomas o porque habrán muchos rumanos en italia? - Creo que podrían convertirsen en los proximos Grecia-Chipre dandose los 12 puntos.

16th PLACE: Russia – Alexey Vorobyov – “Get you”

For the first time the Russian song captivated me, they didn’t do that miracle on me since “Song #1” in 2007 (for me as winner as the Serbian one) maybe was the magic of the RedOne touch or maybe Alexey did a great job, surprisingly Russia did not get more that 1 set of 12 points this year, estrange but cool, I think the ex soviet bloc people are finally learning to vote for the song they like and not only for mother Russia. Also it could have been that the Swedish song had more fans ;) (Both songs had quite similar performance and sounding ;))

Por primera vez en mucho tiempo Rusia logró cautivarme, no lo hacían desde "Song #1" en 2007 (para mi la ganadora junto con Serbia) tal vez la magia de RedOne tuvo que ver, de pronto Alexey hizo un buen trabajo, pero sorprendentemente Rusia no obtuvo más de 1 juego de 12 puntos este año, estraño pero bien, creo que el bloque sovietico está aprendiéndo finalmente a votar por la canción que les gusta y no por madre Rusia. También pudo haber sido que la canción Sueca tenía más fans ;) (Ambas canciones tneian una presentanción y sonidos similares ;))
